Hometown: Chevy Chase, MD
Why Magee? Magee really impressed me during the application/interview process. Most importantly, the residents seemed genuinely happy and excited to be a part of the program. The leadership described Magee as a great place for people who like to learn by "doing" and repetition, which resonated with me. It's high-volume with a supportive learning environment. I'm only a month in, but so far everyone including the nurses, APPs, attendings and residents have been incredibly patient, kind and willing to teach. Also, because I am undecided re-career path, I wanted to join a program that takes pride in training generalists and also has a strong reputation for preparing residents for fellowship.
Favorite Pittsburgh Things: I don't think I've been here long enough to give a favorite, but I've enjoyed trying new spots with my co-interns. People's Indian Restaurant has been one of my favorites
Current Post-Residency Plans: Not sure yet-currently could see myself as a generalist or specialist! I also hope to be involved in career mentorship and residency/medical education.
Hobbies: Anything outside: playing soccer/pickleball/basketball, hiking. Also eating great food and just unwinding with TV
